Fall Into Gold Futurity – Incentive Program
- This will be a closed futurity program. Only foals by nominated stallions will be eligible.
- Any stallion registered with the one [or more] of the following breed registries will be eligible: AQHA, APHA, ApHC, JC.
- Any color foal by a nominated stallion will be eligible to show.
- Stallions will be nominated by stallion owners. Should another party other than the owner wish to nominate a stallion, he or she must be acknowledged by the stallion owner as their representative.
- The total stallion nomination fee, if paid on time, is $200.00.
- In order to nominate a stallion, the stallion owner [or representative] will pay to VPA $50.00 postmarked by
- Late payments will be accepted if postmarked within 30 days of applicable deadline with the inclusion of a 50% late fee per payment. [i.e. – A payment of $50.00 can be postmarked from April 1st to May 1st, with an additional $25.00 lat fee added. This will be applicable to the second payment also whereas the payment of $50.00 can be postmarked from July 1st to August 1st, with an additional $25.00 lat fee added. Should the third payment be late, a payment of $100.00 plus a $50.00 late fee must be postmarked by October 1st. If none of the payments are submitted by due dates, a stallion can be nominated no later than October 1st for a total of $300.00.]
- Stallion owner [or representative] will receive one futurity entry with paid nomination.
- Nominated stallions will be advertised in the VPA directory & on the VPA website.
- Futurity class entry fees will be $100.00 per entry per class, postmarked by
- Late entries will be accepted up to the day of the show for a total of $150.00. [$100.00 with a $50.00 late fee.]
- 65% of all stallion nomination fees [inclusive of late fees] will constitute futurity class payback & will be divided between the seven classes.
- 65% of all futurity entry fees will constitute futurity class jackpot & will stay within the class entered.
- 10% of total collected monies [5% from the stallion nominations & 5% from the entry fees] will be awarded to stallion owners, based upon the placings of foals by their stallions.
- The remaining 30% will be used for ribbons & administrative costs.
- Futurity checks will be mailed within 30 days of the last futurity show day.
- There will be a total of seven futurity classes. Classes will be:
- two weanling halter classes [colts & fillies];
- three yearling halter classes [colts, fillies & geldings];
- 2 & 3 yr old western pleasure;
- 2 & 3 yr old hunter under saddle.
- Winnings will be paid on scale, depending on number of entries per class.
- 1 entry – 100%
- 2 -3 entries – 60/40
- 4 - 5 entries – 50/30/20
- 6 - 8 entries – 40/30/20/10
- 9 - 11 entries – 35/25/20/13/7
- 12 or more entries – 30/24/18/12/9/7
- Example of division of funds in any given class with five entries [exclusive of any late fees]:
- 10 stallions @ $200.00 = $2,000.00 * .70 = $1,400 / 7 = $200.00 per class.
- Class with 5 entries @ $100 per with 70% into purse = $350.00.
- Total pot = $550.00.
- 1st- 50% = $275.00; 2nd - 30% = $165.00; 3rd - 20% = $110.00
- To 1st place horse = $247.50.
- To stallion owner = $27.50.
- To 2nd place horse = $148.50.
- To stallion owner = $16.50.
- To 3rd place horse = $99.00.
- To stallion owner = $11.00.
- The futurity classes will be run on both Saturday & Sunday, with one run per class on each day. Entries must show both days under all six judges. Placings under each judge will be posted & will be combined for a final placing.
- Placings will be tabulated under the following schedule: A horse will receive one point for every horse he/she is placed above plus one for himself/herself. Therefore, a horse that places 1st in a six horse class will receive 6 futurity points, 2nd will receive 5 futurity points, 3rd will receive 4 futurity points, etc. The placings/points from all six judges will be combined with the high scoring horse winning.
- A tie-breaking judge will be chosen in advance of the show. The identity will not be disclosed until after the placings are completed.
- All futurity horse owners & exhibitors must be VPA members in good standing.
- Membership can be purchased at show.
- All futurity horse owners & exhibitors [and their guests] are expected to observe the rules & requests of the facility at which the show is held.
- Fall Into Gold Incentive Program classes will be [tentatively] held on October 27th & 28th in Leesburg, VA. Details will be posted upon confirmation.
